Jennifer Markowitz is a textile artist in Raleigh, NC. Her work has been shown at The Nasher Museum, 440 Gallery, Artspace, CAM Raleigh, The Freeman Gallery at Albright College, Frank Gallery, Dayton Society of Artists, St. Luis Art Guild, Block Gallery, The Arts Center Highland Park, The National Humanities Center, Weems Art Gallery at Meredith College and VAE. She is a three-time recipient of the United Arts Career Development Grant and was the 2020 Emerging Artist Resident at ArtspaceNC, Jennifer’s recent solo show, “Dr. Charcot's Hysterical Women: Embroidered Traces of the Male Gaze”, opened in April 2023 at the Horace Williams House.  Her solo show, “Fleshmap: My Unravelling Geographies” premiered at Artspace in December, 2021. She was also a Brightwork Fellow at Anchorlight where her first solo exhibition, Fleshmap: My Bipolar Embroidered Geographies, showed in November 2019.
